By Jumah Nsubuga

Democratic Party members of parliament have defied the party president’s Norbert Mao directive not to associate with forum for democratic change leadership at parliament.

Speaking to reporters at parliament the DP members of parliament who include Medard Lubega Segoona of Busiro East and Lulume Bayiga of Buikwe South who have been serving in the shadow cabinet that was disbanded by the leader of the opposition two week back  said that the opposition’s role is to serve the country but leaders.

They also said that the opposition must work as the team if they  are to gain what they are fighting for but not working as individual parties.

” Norbert Mao made the decision as an individual , there is no party structure that sat and took the decision.”

Democratic party president Norbert Mao was quoted in the media yesterday while at weekly press briefing that all DP MPs should not accept to serve in the shadow cabinet if chosen by the leader of opposition.
