Collapsed Mirembe Arcade

Another building collapsed in Kampala no one died,police said.Mirembe Shopping Arcade on Nasser Road ,collapsed on Tuesday afternoon.

Experts said the building collapsed because of  an ongoing excavation exercise next to it.

Police and red cross rescued people from the building and rushed the injured to hospital.

This is a second building to collapse in just two weeks.Another building in Kampala city center collapsed after a heavy downpour .One woman died on spot after being hit by a brick.She was carrying our her tailoring work below the building.

The Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers recently launched a crackdown against city unprofessional engineers who  lead the construction of buildings with adequate skills leading to accidents.

The drive followed the collapse of a building under construction in Bukoto a Kampala suburb where  7 people were  injured
