The employment structure bearing 1,200 staff of Kampala Capital city Authority (KCCA) has been okayed by the ministry of public service. KCCA will start recruiting staff this month.
The City Executive Director-Jennifer Musisi on Wednesday said 1,200 staff including permanent and support staff will be recruited from March.
Musisi told journalists that the current office bearers will be subjected to fresh interviews and unsuccessful staff will be given their retirement packages.
“The recruitment exercise will be implemented by the KCCA Human Resource Department and Public Service Commission. It will be carried out in five phases and end in September.”Musisi said
“The process has already started and we will soon be advertising the available jobs and their requirements.”She added
The new KCCA structure bears the executive director, the deputy executive director, directors, deputy directors, managers, officers and the support staff. The new structure scraps off the office of the town clerk and division town clerks among others.
Many former employees of Kampala City Council who are currently holding offices in KCCA are uncertain of their future.
