Following the official release of UACE results this morning, the Uganda National Examination Board has ranked the schools which have performed best in 2011.
Best schools 2011 are;
Uganda Martyrs Namugongo
St Mary’s SS Kitende
Ntare school
St. Mary’s College Kisubi
Namilyango College
Gombe SS
Naalya S.S, Bweyogerere
Mbarara High School
St. Mary’s SS Kitende Annex
Nsambya Hillside
Seeta HS, Kampala
Turkish light Academy
Bweranyangi Girls
Kings College Buddo
Kawempe Muslim SS
MaryHill HS
Nabisunsa girls school
Kisozi HS
Gayaza High School
Mount St. Mary’s Namagunga
Naalya SS, Namugongo
Seeta High School, Mukono
Immaculate Girls High School
St Joseph of Nazareth
Ndejje S.S
A total of 103, 760 candidates registered for the examination from 1,334 centres compared to 101,495 candidates from 1,240 centres in 2010; an increase of 2,265 or 2.2%.
Male candidates performed better in History, Economics and Art while female candidates performed better in Entrepreneurship Education, Islamic Religion Education, Christian Religious Education, Geography, Literature in English and Biology.
Over 100 candidates have had their results withheld for further investigations linked to malpractice. The affected Schools are; St Theresa Girls SS Bwanda, Najjembe Homeland SS Lugazi, Mariam High School Kampala, St John’s College Mpigi ans Brethren Memorial, Matugga.
