The president has reshuffled army generals in the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces.

Some of the army generals reshuffled are Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, Mrs.  Jacqueline Susan Mbabazi, Brig. James Mugira, Maj. Gen. G. Owoyesigire, Col. Charles Bakahumura, Brig. Leo Kyanda, Col. David Muhoozi, Brig. Gavas Mugyenyi, Col. Victor Twesigye, Col. Yowasi Kiiza, Brig. Otema Awany, Maj. Gen. Johnson Namanya.

He promoted Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura to the rank of Lieutenant General though he retained his position of Inspector General of Police (IGP)

Mrs.  Jacqueline Susan Mbabazi, is now the senior presidential advisor on special duties from being in charge of Luwero Industries.

Brig. James Mugira was promoted to Major General and deployed to Luwero Industries to oversee the ammunition department.

Maj. Gen. G. Owoyesigire, the commander of the air force, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Col. Charles Bakahumura was promoted to Brigadier. He was formerly the chief of personnel in the administration of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.

Brig. Leo Kyanda was promoted from the rank of  Colonel to new chief of personal in charge of administration.

Col. David Muhoozi has been promoted to the rank of Brigadier and transferred from Masaka mechanised division to Nakasongola where he is now in charge of the air defence unit in Nakasongola.

Brig. Gavas Mugyenyi has replaced Muhoozi and now heads the mechanised division in Masaka.

Col. Victor Twesigye is  promoted to  the chieftaincy of signals.

Col. Yowasi Kiiza, the former head of the signals, is the new head of the Reserve Forces.

Brig. Otema Awany is the new chief of logistics and engineering replacing Mugenyi.
Maj. Gen. Johnson Namanya has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and appointed as the administration officer in charge of Luwero Industries.
