Home » Uganda News » Bukedde TV Agataliko Nfufu Lied to Ugandans about Oldest Woman in the World

On May 22nd, 2011 Bukedde TV on their Agataliko Nfunfu News gave very wrong information about the existence of the oldest woman in  world in a Uganda Village. Very many Ugandans were existed with the news not knowing that it was a real hoax.

Ever since Bukedde TV begun broadcasting their Agataliko Nfufu News, many people have had doubts about some of the news stories which are read.  This time, luck was not on Bukedde Tv’s side, the story they read about the oldest woman in Uganda and probably the world has been discovered to be a fake one.

According to the story, the woman known as Thereza is 149 years old, her two surviving children are  70 and 72 years. This is where the real problem is, if she is 150 years old and the children are 70 and 72 it means that she got those children when she was 150 – 70 = 80 years old!
It is really impossible that some one of eighty years can give birth.

    Hello!
Thank you for revealing that as well but remember, things that happened long time a case in point are the Biblical teachings of Abraham’s wife giving birth at around the same age.
It seemed to have been a miracle which can still happen now.
Secondly, “the oldest woman in world in a Uganda Village” Quoting you, it’s like you are criticizing Ugandan villages to be having the oldest woman in the world, It’s possible my dear. So you should consider that as well next time you say a thing about our Naturally gifted Uganda.
    Thank you.

      Dear Alex,

Thanks for this comment. In my opinion, a media comapany should bear in mind the ethics in journalism. Bukedde TV is a anational television with a wide range of viewers, majority of whom are low class and illiterates. So whatever they see is gospel truth to them. The media therefore takes advantage of the ignorance. But thank God there is a researcher out there who wants to brobe and find the truth. This is just a learning for jounalists because if it was aserious matter, he/she would have been called to make astaement.

So Amooti, that researcher is right. he loves Uganda. I know miracles are there, but that should not be an excuse for giving inacurate information.

      Kanihire ekyo okyetegeriize kurungi muno.

        Olivia, be wise alittle bit!
With all yo minds, can’t you believe that a miracle working GOD is still performing? An oldest woman in the world? …Uganda can make it also. It may be true as well as Amooti. Even un educated people can reason as educated ones. Agataliiko nfuufu tells truth always.
